Protection of your personal data
We take contractual, technical and organisational security measures in accordance with the state of the art to ensure that data protection laws are complied with and thus to protect the processed data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorised persons.

The security measures include in particular the encrypted transmission of data between your browser and our server. A 256-bit SSL (AES 256) encryption technology is used for this purpose.

In doing so, your personal data is protected within the scope of the following points (excerpt):

c) Maintaining the availability of your personal data
To maintain the availability of your data stored with us, we have taken various measures to control orders and availability.

The security measures in place are continuously improved in line with technological developments. Despite these precautions, due to the insecure nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmission to our website. Therefore, any data transmission by you is at your own risk.

Protection of minors
Personal information may only be provided to us by persons who have not yet reached the age of 16 if the express consent of their legal guardians has been obtained. This data will be processed in accordance with this data protection notice.

Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Time of server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

The basis for data processing is our legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Online applications via a form
We offer applicants on our website the opportunity to apply online via a corresponding form. Inclusion in the application process requires that applicants provide us with all the personal data required for a sound and informed assessment and selection via the form.

The required information includes general personal information (name, address, telephone or electronic contact details) as well as performance-specific evidence of the qualifications required for a position. Health-related information may also be required, which must be given special consideration under labour and social law in the interest of the applicant's social protection.

When you submit the form, your data will be encrypted according to the state of the art and transmitted to us and processed exclusively for the purpose of processing your application.

The legal basis for the processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26(1) BDSG (German Data Protection Act), in the sense of which the application process is considered to be the initiation of an employment contract. Insofar as special categories of personal data within the meaning of Article 9(1) GDPR (e.g. health data such as information on severely disabled status) are requested from applicants as part of the application process, the processing is carried out in accordance with Article 9(2)(b) GDPR so that we can exercise the rights arising from labour law and social security and social protection law and fulfil our obligations.

Building on this or alternatively, the processing of the special categories of data may also be based on Article 9(1)(h) GDPR if it is carried out for the purposes of preventive health care or occupational medicine, for the assessment of the applicant's fitness for work, for medical diagnosis, health or social care or treatment, or for the management of health or social care systems and services.

If the applicant is not selected in the course of the evaluation described above or if an applicant withdraws his or her application prematurely, the data provided will be deleted at the latest after six months following notification. This period is measured on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering any follow-up questions about the application and, if necessary, to be able to meet our obligations to provide evidence under the regulations on equal treatment of applicants.

In the event of a successful application, the data provided will be further processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26(1) BDSG for the purposes of implementing the employment relationship.

Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of your internet browser. The cookies enable, for example, the recognition of the internet browser. The files are used to help the browser navigate through the website and to make full use of all functions.

Cookiebot
This website uses the cookie consent tool of Cybot A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark ("Cookiebot"), which sets technically necessary cookies to store your cookie preferences. This data processing is carried out pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a cookie consent management service for website visitors.

Use of Google Tag Manager
We use the Google Tag Manager. Through this service, website tags can be managed via an interface. The Google Tag Manager only implements tags. No cookies are set and no personal data is collected. The Google Tag Manager triggers other tags that may collect data. The Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If a deactivation has been made at domain or cookie level, it remains in place for all tracking tags, insofar as these are implemented with the Google Tag Manager. More information on the Google Tag Manager can be found at the following link: https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/tag-manager/use-policy/

You have the option to prevent all tags from being sent by the Google Tag Manager. To do this, you must click on the opt-out link below to place the Google Tag Manager deactivation cookie in your browser.

Use of Google Analytics
So far as you have given your consent, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. The responsible service provider in the EU is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google").

We are joint controllers with Google within the meaning of Article 26 GDPR through the use of Google Analytics on our website. However, since Google does not offer the conclusion of a joint responsibility contract in accordance with Article 26 GDPR, such a contract could not be concluded.

Scope of processing
Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of our website. The information collected by means of the cookies about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

We use Google Signals. This captures additional information in Google Analytics about users who have activated personalised ads (interests and demographics) and ads can be delivered to these users in cross-device remarketing campaigns.

We use the function 'anonymizeIP' (known as IP masking): Due to the activation of IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

During your visit to the website, the following data is collected, among other things:

  • the pages you have accessed, your "click path"
  • achieving "website goals" (conversions, e.g. newsletter sign-ups, downloads, purchases)
  • your user behaviour (e.g. clicks, dwell time, bounce rates)
  • your approximate location (region)
  • your IP address (in shortened form)
  • technical information about your browser and the end devices you use (e.g. language setting, screen resolution)
  • your internet provider
  • the referrer URL (via which website/advertising medium you came to this website)

Purpose of processing
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your (pseudonymous) use of the website and compiling reports on website activity. The reports provided by Google Analytics are used to analyse the performance of our website.

Recipient
The recipient of the data is

Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland

within the framework of shared responsibility with website operators. We have not entered into a shared responsibility agreement with Google, as Google does not provide this.

Google LLC, based in California, USA, and possibly US authorities can access the data stored by Google (Patriot Act). This creates a high risk if the user consents to tracking by Google Analytics.

Transfer to third countries
Data is transferred to the USA.

Storage period
The data sent by us and linked to cookies are stored by Google Analytics for at least 14 months. The deletion of data on our site whose retention period has been reached takes place automatically once a month.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google by
a. not giving your consent to the setting of the cookie or
b. downloading and installing the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics here.
You can also prevent cookies from being stored by setting your browser software accordingly. However, if you configure your browser to refuse all cookies, you may experience limitations in functionality on this and other websites.

Legal basis and revocation option
Your consent applies to this data processing, Article 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by calling up the cookie settings and changing your selection there.

For more information on Google Analytics' terms of use and Google's privacy policy, please visit https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/us/ and https://policies.google.com/?hl=en.

Use of Google Ads conversion tracking
We use the online advertising programme "Google Ads" on this website and, as part of Google Ads, the conversion tracking of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). We use the Google Ads service to draw attention to offers on external websites with the help of advertising media. We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the data of the advertising campaigns. In this way, we pursue the aim of showing you advertising that is of interest to you, making our website more interesting for you and achieving a calculation of the advertising costs incurred.

The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on an ad placed by Google. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie.

Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of Google Ads customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have opted in to conversion tracking. Clients learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that personally identifies users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, you can block this use by deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie via your internet browser under the menu item "User settings". You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. We use Google Ads on the basis of our legitimate interest in targeted advertising pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. In the course of using Google Ads, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

You can obtain further information about Google's data protection policy at the following Internet address: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-US

You can permanently object to the setting of cookies by Google Ads conversion tracking by downloading and installing the Google browser plug-in available at the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=de

Please note that certain functions of this website may not be available or may be restricted if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

Insofar as legally required, we have obtained your consent for the processing of your data as described above in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your revocation, deactivate this service in the "Cookie Consent Tool" provided on the website or alternatively follow the option described above for making an objection.

Google Ads Remarketing
Our website uses the functions of Google Ads Remarketing, which we use to advertise this website in Google search results and on third-party websites. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google").

For this purpose, Google sets a cookie in the browser of your terminal device, which automatically allows for interest-based advertising by means of a pseudonymous cookie ID and on the basis of the pages you have visited. The processing takes place on the basis of your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Additional data processing will only take place if you have consented to Google linking your internet and app browsing history to your Google Account and using information from your Google Account to personalise ads you view on the web. In this case, if you are logged in to Google while visiting our website, Google will use your data together with Google Analytics data to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing. For this purpose, your personal data will be temporarily linked by Google with Google Analytics data in order to form target groups. In the course of using Google Ads Remarketing, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

Details on the processing triggered by Google Ads Remarketing and on Google's handling of data from websites can be found here: https://policies.google.com/technologies?hl=en.

You can permanently object to the setting of cookies by Google Ads Remarketing by downloading and installing the Google browser plug-in available at the following  link: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated?hl=en.

Further information and the data protection provisions regarding advertising and Google can be viewed here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=en.

Use of Google AJAX Search API via Java-Script Code
We use Google AJAX Search API via Java-Script Code, which enables you to search for other websites on our online offer via Google Search. By using the search field, personal data can be passed on to Google and processed. To prevent the execution of the Java-Script code used, you must install a Java-Script blocker (e.g. www.noscript.net).

Microsoft Advertising (Microsoft Corporation)
This website uses the conversion tracking technology "Microsoft Advertising" from Microsoft (Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA). Microsoft Advertising sets a cookie on your computer if you have accessed our website via a Microsoft Advertising advertisement. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device. These cookies lose their validity after 180 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Microsoft and we can recognise that the user has clicked on the advertisement and was redirected to this page (conversion page). If personal data is processed in the process, this is done on the basis of your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future: https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings/signedout?lang=en.

The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics, i.e. to record how many users reach a conversion page after clicking on an ad. This tells us the total number of users who clicked on our ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, then refuse your consent to this in our Consent Banner. We will then not carry out any conversion tracking using Bing Ads and you will not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. Alternatively, you can use the deactivation page for consumers from the EU http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/ to check whether advertising cookies from Microsoft are set in your browser and deactivate them.

For more information about Microsoft Advertising's privacy practices, please visit the following website: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement.

Office communications: Microsoft (Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams)
We use Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, to conduct our usual office communications and for conference calls, online meetings and/or video conferencing. If we record online meetings, we will tell you before we start and ask for verbal consent where necessary. If you do not wish to be recorded, you can leave the online meeting.

If it is necessary for the purposes of logging the results of an online meeting, we will log the chat content.

Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams are a service provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations, Ltd. For this purpose, we have concluded an order processing agreement with the provider.

When using "Microsoft Teams", various types of data are processed. The scope of the data also depends on the data you provide before or during participation in an "online meeting".

The following personal data are subject to processing:

  • User details: display name, e-mail address, profile picture (optional), preferred language
  • Meeting metadata: e.g. date, time, meeting ID, phone number, location
  • Text, audio and video data: You may have the option of using the chat function in an online meeting. In this case, the text entries you make are processed in order to display them in the online meeting.

In order to enable the display of video and the playback of audio, data from the microphone of your terminal device and from a video camera of the terminal device are processed during the meeting. You can switch off or mute the camera or microphone yourself at any time via the "Microsoft Teams" apps.

If there is no contractual relationship with you, the legal basis for processing your personal data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Here, our interest is in the effective implementation of online meetings.

Facebook Pixel
To analyse and optimise our offer and our advertising measures, we use the "Facebook Pixel" of the social network Facebook, Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, on our pages. Facebook Pixel enables the measurement, evaluation and optimisation of the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. We only receive reports from Facebook in anonymised form.

However, with the help of Facebook Pixel, it is also possible for Facebook to determine the visitors to our online offer as a target group for the display of advertisements (known as "Facebook ads"). Therefore, we form a joint responsibility with Facebook in this case according to Article 26 GDPR. Facebook Pixel is directly integrated by Facebook when our websites are called up and can save a cookie on your device.

For the use of Facebook Pixel, we have therefore obtained your consent via our Consent Banner (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). The consent you have given applies both to the use of the tool and to the transfer of data to an unsecure third country (in this case the USA). US authorities can access the data stored by Facebook (Patriot Act). As a result, there is a high risk if the user consents to Facebook's tracking or use of the tool. Facebook Pixel allows us to classify visitors to our website into specific target groups in order to display appropriate advertising ("ads") to you on Facebook. The data collected (e.g. IP addresses, information on the web browser, the location of the website, buttons clicked, pixel IDs if applicable and other characteristics) are not visible to us ourselves, but can only be used in the context of displaying certain advertisements. Cookies are also set as part of the use of the Facebook Pixel code. We use Facebook Pixel to display the Facebook ads placed by us only to those Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our online offer or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics or products determined on the basis of the websites visited) that we transmit to Facebook ("Custom Audiences").  With the help of Facebook Pixel, we want to ensure that our Facebook ads correspond to the potential interest of the users and want to track the effectiveness of the Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad ("conversion").

If you have a Facebook account and are logged in, your visit to this website will be assigned to your Facebook user account. If you log in to Facebook after visiting our website or visit Facebook while logged in, your visit to our online offering will be noted in your profile and can be used by Facebook for its own market research and advertising purposes.

Furthermore, when using Facebook Pixel, we use the additional function "extended matching", whereby data for the creation of target groups ("Custom Audiences" or "Look Alike Audiences") is transmitted to Facebook in encrypted form. The data transmitted here are:

  • Frequency and duration of page views
  • use of website functions
  • device type and browser settings (operating system, firmware, language settings)
  • purchases made (time, quantity, name(s) of product(s), value)
  • interests (Go to www.facebook.com/ads/preferences to view them)
  • demographic characteristics
  • location (via anonymised IP addresses).

The processing of the data by Facebook takes place within the framework of Facebook's data usage policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).

This allows users of the website to be shown interest-based advertisements ("Facebook ads") when visiting Facebook or other websites that also use this procedure. In this way, we pursue the interest of showing you advertisements that correspond to your interests in order to make our websites more interesting for you.

In order to exchange the respective data, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Facebook server. We have no influence over the scope and further use of the data collected by Facebook through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Through the integration of Facebook Custom Audiences, Facebook receives the information that you have called up the corresponding web page of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. Even if you are not registered with Facebook or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address and other identifying features.
If you have consented to this, we may pass on your telephone number or e-mail address to "Facebook" in order to be able to show you advertisements that correspond to your interests.
You can find out how Facebook Pixel is used for advertising campaigns at
https://www.facebook.com/business/learn/facebook-ads-pixel. More information on Facebook's data policy can be found at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. For more information on Facebook's data processing, please visit https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy.

We store your data as long as we need it for the respective purpose (display of interest-based advertising) and you have not objected to the storage of your data or revoked your consent.

Use of videos from YouTube
We use the YouTube implementation function to display and play videos from the provider "YouTube", which belongs to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google").

We use the extended data protection mode, which only starts storing user information when a video is played. If the playback of the implemented YouTube video is started, the provider "YouTube" uses cookies to collect information about user behaviour.
According to YouTube, these cookies are used, among other things, to collect video statistics, to improve user-friendliness and to prevent abusive behaviour. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account when you click on a video. If you do not wish to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button.

Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and evaluates them. Such an evaluation is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of Google's legitimate interests in the display of personalised advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube to exercise this right.

During the use of YouTube, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA. Independently of a playback of the embedded videos, a connection to the Google network is established each time this website is called up, which may trigger further data processing operations without our influence. Further information on data protection at "YouTube" can be found in the provider's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

Insofar as legally required, we have obtained your consent for the processing of your data as described above in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your revocation, deactivate this service in the "Cookie Consent Tool" provided on the website.

Newsletter
If you subscribe to our e-mail newsletter, we will regularly send you information about our offers. Personal data will be collected for this purpose. The only mandatory data for sending the newsletter is your e-mail address. The provision of further data is voluntary and will be used to address you personally. This data will be used by us for our own advertising purposes in the form of the e-mail newsletter, provided that you have expressly consented to this as follows:
"Yes, I would like to subscribe to the newsletter! I have taken note of the data protection notice".

We use the double opt-in procedure for sending the newsletter. Newsletter dispatch via Optimizley Campaign
Our e-mail newsletters are sent via the technical service provider Optimizley Campaign, Wallstraße 16, 10179 Berlin ("Optimizley"), to whom we pass on the data you provided when subscribing to the newsletter. This transfer takes place in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and serves our legitimate interest in using an effective, secure and user-friendly newsletter system. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (e.g. e-mail address) is stored on Optimizley's servers in the EU.

Optimizley uses this information to send and statistically evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. For the evaluation, the e-mails sent contain web beacons or tracking pixels, which are single-pixel image files that are stored on our website. This makes it possible to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. With the help of conversion tracking, it can also be analysed whether a predefined action (e.g. purchase of a product on our website) has taken place after clicking the link in the newsletter. In addition, technical information is recorded (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). The data is only collected pseudonymously and is not linked to your other personal data. A direct reference to a person is excluded. This data is used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients. If you wish to object to the data analysis for statistical evaluation purposes, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.

We have concluded an order processing agreement with Optimizley, by which we oblige Optimizley to protect our customers' data and not to pass it on to third parties.
